Modern Office Revival in Saratoga, San Francisco

The client acquired an eight-unit office complex, which had become abandoned over time and showed years of neglect. The owners wanted to transform the abandoned 2,500 sq. ft. facility from eight small units into two large independent offices with their own amenities. After an extensive consult, Coverall Construction Company was contracted for build out the new design.

The Solution

The design the client settled on required Coverall Construction to remove non-supporting, dividing walls to create larger floor plans, conducive to a modern open concept workplace that took advantage of the natural light and tranquil scenery through the large picture windows. The building was reconfigured from eight tiny offices into two large office suites. The ceilings were opened to expose large supporting beams, which were painted white to highlight the natural wood tones of the original tongue and groove boards.

The larger of the two newly configured suites featured five functional spaces and a unisex washroom. The smaller suite featured three functional spaces and the addition of a unisex washroom, which did not previously exist.

Both washrooms used materials that further enhanced the sense of openness and calm the client was aiming to achieve. The floating cabinetry and under mounted sink minimized weight and aids in achieving the light airy feel established with the neutral grey walls in the main space.

The Result
